Snowmbile: Canadian Rockies
See the Mountains from a Snowmobile on Your Canadian Rockies Tour
While snowmobiling isn’t allowed around Banff or anywhere in the confines of Banff National Park, it is nevertheless a great way to see the Canadian Rockies in Western Canada’s Alberta province. And outside the park boundaries there is still much to explore and plenty of places to play. In fact it’s one of the best ways to get around the mountains of Alberta in winter.
With that in mind, several local tour operators in and around Banff provide direct transportation from Banff to their recreation plots outside the park, where snowmobiles are permitted. Several different tour lengths are available, ranging from 2-hour to multi-day tours, for snowmobilers of all levels of experience. Tours may include additional winter activities, such as ice-fishing.
