Walter’s Dining Room in the Sawridge Hotel Jasper serves delicious Canadian fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chef changes the menu seasonally, keeping the dishes fresh. Past menu items have included pheasant pâté, escargot Florentine, Alberta beef, BC salmon, lamb and chicken. The dining room is elegant, with white tablecloths and a central conical fireplace. Head to the adjacent lounge for a before or after dinner cocktail.

This rustic, yet elegant restaurant is located just five minutes from Jasper. The vaulted ceilings, stone fireplace and chandeliers add character to the dining room where dishes like Dijon-rubbed rack of lamb, butterflied pork stuffed with dates and figs and maple syrup-basted pheasant breast are served. Other great options include their pan-seared Atlantic salmon, Alberta beef, or fresh shellfish pastas.

Becker’s is a gourmet restaurant five minutes south of Jasper. Its fabulous menu includes dishes like rack of lamb Provencal, vegetable strudel, beef tenderloin with cabernet sauce, and grilled venison loin with Saskatoonberry compote. The view will dazzle you as much as the chefs, experts in the fresh ingredients in the area. They also serve a delicious breakfast buffet if you can’t make it to dinner.

A meal at the Treeline Restaurant is an out-of-the-ordinary dining experience. To reach the restaurant, drive 10 minutes out of town and take a 7-minute tramway to the summit. The glass-enclosed dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Daylight menus serve hearty fare like bacon and eggs, pot pie and pastas. Sunset dinners are exceptional, serving entrees like mussels, Alberta beef, barbequed ribs, BC salmon, roast turkey.

Tekarra Lodge Restaurant is located just south of Japer on Highway 93A. The atmosphere is casual, but the food is excellent. Grilled New York steak with blue cheese and mushrooms, seafood with tropical fusions, and a beef and buffalo meatloaf are a few of the to-die-for menu options. If you can fit it in, desserts like their banana bread pudding and chocolate pecan pie are definitely worth trying.

This casual restaurant is the Amethyst Lodge hotel. It’s a great place to go for old standards like hearty chili, Alberta steak, BC salmon and a delicious array of pastas and stir-fries. Breakfasts at Anthony’s are served both buffet-style and a la carte.

This Jasper restaurant is a casual, comfortable pub-style joint, perfect for meeting up with friends. Twelve local and international beers are on tap and bar games provide fun entertainment. The menu is mostly comprised of basic bar fare like soups, salads, appetizers and burgers. But if you’re looking for a step up from bar food, they have burritos, stir-fries, chicken Parmesean or the New York steak.

If you’re in the mood for delicious seafood, head to Fiddle River Seafood in Jasper. Creative sauces like pink peppercorn guacamole with grape tomatoes make the fresh Arctic char, BC salmon, tuna, trout and swordfish taste just that much better. If you need to bring someone along that doesn’t like seafood, don’t worry: Fiddle River also serves steaks, chicken and pastas. Great wine list too!

Andy’s Bistro is one of Jasper’s most popular restaurants. Using Canada’s best fresh meats and produce, the chefs employ European culinary techniques for the gourmet dishes served in the romantic dining room. Starters include blue crab cakes and savory soups and main courses include Stilton and port filet mignon, pork tenderloins with caramelized onion and apples and apricot and grain mustard duck breast. Be aware that the focus is on quality, not speed at Andy’s Bistro. Dinners usually last two hours or more, but nobody complains, especially with the great wine and spirits selection!

Oka Sushi serves nigiri and sushi rolls from the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. It’s a small restaurant with tables bordering the central sushi bar. Watch the skilled chefs prepare your meal while you start with a Sapporo beer, green tea or sake.
